Free name tags for every student in your class
Teachers, this one is for you. Give each student a chunky desk name that stands on its own, a keychain for their backpack, or a name puzzle for the youngest learners. Hang a sign with your name on the door, and let the class surprise you with a Best Teacher apple. Paste your roster once and the whole class comes out of one free download.

Making them
- Pick a desk name, keychain, or puzzle and type one student’s name in the Name box.
- Copy your class list from a spreadsheet or roster and paste it into Make a set, with each name on a line of its own.
- Choose a font and two colors (school colors look great), then pick your printer from the list.
- Sign in with Google and press Download free. The whole roster is one download, split into a file per plate when it needs more than one.
Questions people ask
- How big a class can I do at once?
- Up to 31 students in a single set. Teaching two sections, or a bigger group? Make a second set. Each set uses one of your 10 free downloads for the day.
- Which template suits which grade?
- Name puzzles help preschool and kindergarten kids learn the letters in their own name (they aren’t meant for children under 3). Desk names work in any grade and help substitutes and visitors. Keychains mark backpacks, lunch boxes, and cubbies. The door sign has two screw holes so it can hang outside your room.
- Will the school mascot fit on there?
- Yes. Under Logo, upload the mascot (SVG, PNG, GIF, and JPG all work). Bold artwork in one color prints cleanest. Your uploads stay private to your account.
- Our makerspace printer only has one color. Is that a problem?
- Not at all. Each design needs just one swap between its two colors. Have the print stop at the height your download gives, change spools, and let it finish.
- Do I need an account?
- Designing and previewing work without one. To download, sign in with Google. Your account keeps every download, and Save design lets you come back next fall and paste in a new roster.
