Signing in

Anyone can design and preview without an account. Downloading files and saving things means signing in through Google. Keep that Google login secure, because whatever is done through your account is your responsibility.

One person, one account, please. We may limit, suspend, or close an account that misuses the site, for example by downloading through scripts or bots, by opening extra accounts to get past the daily limit, or by anything else that breaks these terms or the law.

You can close your account yourself whenever you like, from the account page. Closing it is final: your saved designs, printers, logos, and downloaded files are erased and can't be brought back.

Free downloads and the daily limit

Downloads cost nothing. Each account may currently make up to 10 a day, and a set of names counts as a single download. The count resets at midnight UTC. A separate daily ceiling applies to each internet connection, so several accounts using one network share it. Getting a file you already made again from your account does not use up a download.

We may raise, lower, or otherwise change these limits, or change which designs and features are offered, at any time and without notice. Files you have already downloaded stay available in your account for as long as the account exists.

What you may do with your files

Each file you download comes with permission to:

• print it as often as you want, for yourself, your family, your class, or as gifts;
• sell the objects you print from it, in any number, online, at markets, or in a shop.

That permission does not cover the file itself. You may not:

• share, post, sell, give away, or otherwise distribute the file, or any file derived from it, by any means;
• use the site to collect files for other people to download, or to run a file library or service.

Every font on the site is released under the Apache 2.0 or SIL Open Font License, and those licenses allow these uses. Rights in a logo you upload are a separate matter, covered next.

Logos you upload

The names you type and the images you upload remain yours. You allow us to store them and process them to show previews and generate your files, and we use them for nothing beyond that. Uploaded logos are kept private to your account.

You must own, or have permission to use, any artwork you upload. School crests, team badges, and company marks are often trademarked, and selling prints that carry them usually needs the owner's consent. Getting that consent is up to you. We may take down material that appears to infringe someone's rights or break the law.

Advertising

Free 3D Names is free to use because it is paid for by ads. Pages on the site show advertising served by Google AdSense. The ads come from third parties: we don't control their content, and showing an ad isn't an endorsement of the advertiser or what it offers. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and them. How ads use cookies and data is described in the privacy policy.

No warranty, and no liability

Files are generated automatically from the choices you make. We check designs before you download and work to make good files, but the result depends on your printer, filament, slicer settings, and the conditions where you print, none of which we control. Make a test print before you sell anything or make a large batch.

The site and every file are provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law permits. Small printed items such as keychains and tags can be swallowed, so keep them out of reach of young children.

Free 3D Names is free, and you use it and its files at your own risk. To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable to you for anything arising from your use of the site or its files: no direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and no lost profits, filament, or printing time, however they come about. Where the law doesn't allow a limit like this, our liability is the least the law allows.

Changes to these terms, and governing law

We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. For a significant change, we'll post a notice on the site before it applies. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, you accept the revised terms.

The laws of the State of Massachusetts, USA, apply to these terms, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law.
